If you’re dreaming of experiencing Norway’s natural beauty without the crowds, let us share one of our favorite local hikes: Veten, just a 15-minute drive from Isfjorden Chalet, our cozy short-term rental in the heart of the fjords.
Today, we set out to explore this scenic trail—and even with only a little sun peeking through the clouds, the views were absolutely stunning. The path is gentle and enjoyable, leading you through peaceful forest and open terrain before revealing breathtaking views over Romsdalsfjord and the surrounding peaks. It’s a quiet, rewarding hike perfect for anyone who wants a taste of real Norwegian nature.
We didn’t get full sun this time, but reaching the top and soaking in the views was all the reward we needed. The round trip took about two hours at a relaxed pace, and the entire experience left us refreshed and inspired.
And the best part? Coming home to our chalet and slipping straight into our outdoor hot jacuzzi. There’s truly nothing like relaxing in warm, bubbling water while gazing out at the mountains you just explored. It’s the kind of post-hike luxury you won’t forget.
